Custom Hauling Custom Hauling for hunters, jumpers and dressage horses, as well as warmblood breeding stock. The exclusive hauler for Jeff Marsh's Eurosport Auctions, for Glenwood Farms Hanoverians in Wilton, CA and for the Ultimate Piaffe in Lake Oswego, OR. We are not a typical commercial hauler. We won't be the cheapest price you will obtain, but we believe we will be the best haul for the money. We cater to special situations, such as import pick ups at LAX or UCDavis, new horse/foal purchases, pregnant mare and foal hauls, and long distance moves where the owner wants his/her horse to receive special care and attention.
What makes us different from the commercial haulers and why do we haul horses the way we do? To start with, hauling is not what we primarily do. We raise young warmbloods, breed our stallion to our own mares, foal them out, start young horses under saddle, show young hunters and jumpers, and arrange buying trips to Germany for dressage and jumper clients. In addition we advise show barns, breeding farms and veterinary practices on business management issues. So, Custom Hauling is really just a part of our overall equine business. When we are asked to relocate a client's young horse, broodmare or experienced showhorse, we handle it just as if we were moving one of our own. We are ICC licensed and in compliance with all applicable rules and regulations. We make certain that your horse will travel reasonably direct and that there will not be lots of pickups and dropoffs along the way. We do not want your horse to spend 36 to 48 hours on our truck at a stretch. We take him off every night. We want to get him out and give him a chance to stretch his legs, have his dinner and just relax. We want him to arrive in as good a shape as he was when we picked him up. If for some reason your horse is not travelling well, we will call you immediately so that your vet can be alerted prior to delivery. Sometimes older horses and broodmares don't adjust well to being relocated. We will always try to be sensitive to these situations and keep you posted as to how they are handling the move. Our equipment includes two new 4Star slant trailers, one a 7 horse and the other a 4 horse--both are air ride equipped, extra tall and wide with large and long slots to accomodate the big warmbloods. The partitions are removable creating open boxes for those needing even more room. Plenty of drop down doors and windows for lots of fresh air. Head dividers, feed bags and easy loading ramps. Peaked ceilings for drawing of stale air. The horses love them! |
